FORTHCOMING management changes at the Guernsey Press and Star have been announced by the company.
Editor Richard Digard is to step down from the role in June 2014 after 14 years in the post.
'Richard has been an outstanding editor of the newspaper, bringing it from a rather conservative broadsheet in the late 90s to a more lively tabloid with the interests of the readers at the heart of editorial policy,' said Terry Holder, chairman of the Guernsey Press Company.
'This has been highly successful, with the readership of the Press being maintained at a high level while other daily newspapers have fallen away.
'Fourteen years is an unusually long time for an editor but I know he will continue to be our readers' champion for the next 15 months.'
Shaun Green, the current deputy editor, has been appointed editor designate.
