THE business community has given a warm welcome to the vision for the future of education in the Bailiwick.

The Education Department, which launched its Today's Learners: Tomorrow's World document last month, was told at a presentation to a business audience it was 'about time' that something was done to enable local learners to keep up with what is happening globally.

Julian Winser, pictured, representing the Chamber of Commerce, was very enthusiastic about the plans.

'I'm torn between thinking that this is fantastic and innovative and "about time, too",' he said.

'I think that industry will fully support this. There is no choice. Anyone who sits there in the system and doesn't support the change – get rid of them. I think this is fantastic.'
