Head of Guernsey Finance to front CI Securities Exchange

Published

Fiona Le Poidevin, pictured, will leave Guernsey Finance in the new year after four years at the promotional agency, two-and-a-half as chief executive, to join Jon Moulton's restructured exchange.

Mr Moulton, chairman of the CISE, said earlier this year that delays in appointing a chief executive were uppermost in his frustrations about progress there.

It was restructured through the courts at the end of last year, following the revelation that the former Channel Islands Stock Exchange was subject to a long-running regulatory investigation, still unresolved, by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.

'Fiona brings with her tremendous experience from a varied career in financial services and is extremely well respected within the industry in the Channel Islands.

'She will be instrumental in helping us drive forward the new exchange, so that not only is it fit for purpose but it has an offering which is attractive to clients and their advisers in the marketplace of today and tomorrow,' he said.

Miss Le Poidevin said she was looking forward to the new challenge.

'It promises to be a very challenging but exciting role and one which I believe is important for the whole of the financial services community in the Channel Islands.

'There is enormous potential within the new exchange and I look forward to unlocking it in conjunction with Jon, the other directors and the rest of the team,' she said.

She added that leading Guernsey Finance had been 'a huge honour and a tremendous experience'.
