The annual Lawyer Awards are recognised as one of the biggest and most significant accolades in the legal industry.

'This prestigious award recognises the strides Ogier has made since the management buy-out of our fiduciary arm last year,' said Ogier's global managing partner Nick Kershaw, pictured.

The firm was selected because it maintained its momentum after the MBO and used its new, law-only focus to expand its offering, moving a disputes team into Hong Kong for the first time and continuing to grow its unique Luxembourg office.

Ogier advised on two of the largest pieces of litigation seen in its home jurisdictions of Guernsey and Jersey last year – representing Carlyle in a $1bn Guernsey funds dispute and the beneficiaries of a trust in a very significant and ground-breaking claim against the trustees for gross negligence, which was settled last year.

Ogier group partner Simon Dinning, who collected the award, said: 'We are delighted to have been recognised for our achievements over the past year. 2014 was an exceptionally strong year for the firm across the board, with Ogier being involved in a very significant number of high-profile transactions.'
