Power Women listing surprises deputy

Published

This year the list includes new entrants who are not directly involved in the finance industry, including States member Heidi Soulsby, pictured above, Youth Commission chairwoman Jane St Pier and States chief accountant Bethan Haines.

New entrants this year also include Kate Clouston, director of international business development at Guernsey Finance, Carey Olsen partner Natasha Kapp, and Mourant Ozannes Guernsey managing partner Jessica Roland.

Deputy Soulsby discovered she was featured in the list only when contacted by the Guernsey Press. She said she was 'surprised and delighted' to be included.

'I had no idea I had been nominated. It is also pleasing seeing the governmental sector recognised amongst the law firms and finance industry,' she said.

'I'm particularly interested in the introduction to the list where an observation is made as to the style of management of the 200 and humbled to think that I am considered to share those traits. I certainly aspire to.

'I do strive for excellence and am non-judgemental and do like to work collaboratively. I think government works best when people come together and reach consensus and that's the approach I've taken since becoming a deputy.'
