Island is world leader in non-UK LSE listings

Published

Year-end LSE market data has revealed that there were 129 Guernsey-incorporated entities listed on its main market, Aim and the specialist fund market – an increase of seven over the past 12 months.

This puts the island ahead of any other jurisdiction in the world.

Jersey has 93, the Isle of Man 54, Cayman 42, Russia 31 and the US 30.

Guernsey added 16 new entities to the LSE markets during 2015, more than any other jurisdiction except the UK.

These included the largest listing on the SFM, Tetragon Financial Group, with net assets of $2bn, and Funding Circle's small business investment trust on the main market.

'These figures demonstrate that Guernsey remains the jurisdiction of choice for entities listing on the London Stock Exchange,' said Guernsey Finance chief executive Dominic Wheatley.
