Team leader Lucinda is the first winner of Chris Le Conte Award

Published
The Guernsey International Insurance Association introduced the award in memory of Mr Le Conte, who died suddenly in August 2015 and who was well recognised as an innovator and driving force in the local insurance sector.

Its first winner is Lucinda Hodgkinson, client insurance manager and leader of a team at Artex Risk which, over the past 24 months, has successfully established the world’s largest captive employee benefits programme.

The project is now on the cusp of achieving a world first, in directly accepting a cession of US employee benefits business into a non-onshore US captive. Her nomination for the award said: ‘It is down to Lucinda’s drive and clear-headed direction that this project has progressed so far so quickly, and with so little turbulence.’

Mrs Hodgkinson has worked for the company for the past 10 years, having joined the local insurance industry, she said, ‘by accident’.

‘I only ever meant to be here for a year, but never left. The job is very interesting and the support of the people and the company is great.’
