The bank’s Accelerate initiative was a six-month leadership development programme created specifically for it in partnership with Cranfield University.

It was the first year the programme had been run in the islands and the bank focused on women, with the aim of improving diversity and balance in its senior leadership teams.

Autumn Le Lievre said she was already looking at her future having completed the course.

‘I am looking at what roles will get me where I want to go. I’ve been meeting senior leaders and working on making my CV reflect my key skills and “personal brand identity”. I feel empowered to really influence my future career and be part of an increasingly diverse team at HSBC,’ she said.

‘Accelerate offered a great opportunity to focus on the skills I needed to develop my career as a leader at HSBC. The emphasis on women this year made it particularly appealing.'
