Marie McNeela takes up the role of managing director next month having previously served as head of corporate client services at the company. She brings more than 20 years of experience of the global and fiduciary and corporate sectors to her new role.

Meanwhile, Alison Parry will join the company in early 2019 as Intertrust’s head of private wealth in Guernsey. She is moving from Butterfield Trust, where she was regional head in the Bahamas and Cayman.

‘Intertrust is an established name in Guernsey with a strong reputation and we are continuing to enhance our platform to strengthen the business and ensure it is equipped for the future,’ said Mrs McNeela.

‘One of my priorities in my new role is to ensure that our employees continue to benefit from the opportunities which Intertrust offers to develop both personally and professionally.’

She added: ‘The future is increasingly digital, so another of my priorities will be to make best use of the significant investment in innovative technology that is being made at group level. I’m looking forward to leading the Guernsey team and continuing to provide the highest quality service to our clients.’

Daniel Jaffe, managing director of market offices for Intertrust, said: ‘Marie demonstrated a clear understanding of our island footprint and of the opportunities to support our strategic ambitions.

‘She places huge emphasis on delivering high quality client services while investing considerably in her team. With her extensive experience she’s extremely well placed to maximise growth opportunities in the Guernsey market.’

Mrs McNeela began her career with a leading fiduciary provider in London, moving then to the Cayman Islands before relocating to Guernsey in 2002. She is a former committee member of the Guernsey Association of Trustees and currently sits as a committee member for the Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors.

Previously, Mrs Parry was with Coutts & Co before moving to an international bank where she led a team specialising in offshore structures for high value international clients. Following a secondment to Hong Kong, Mrs Parry headed up the Guernsey fiduciary operation at Barclays Wealth.

‘Alison joins Intertrust at a time when our private wealth business is expanding into new areas.

‘This appointment will further strengthen the Channel Island offering,’ said Ian Rumens, Intertrust’s global head of private wealth.
