Duncan Tait, Fujitsu’s senior executive vice president head of Americas, Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, replies:

‘THE business case for diversity is well understood, with recent reports revealing that companies with more culturally and ethnically diverse teams can achieve between 15 and 33% higher than average profits.

‘As business becomes increasingly globalised and ever-more connected, embracing diversity of thought, opinion and experience is essential for future growth and success. It’s an exciting prospect that Guernsey stands to benefit immensely from a future working alongside global partners who can bring the best of the international business stage to the island, whilst still respecting Guernsey’s unique local culture and heritage.

‘Fujitsu believes strongly in the power of human difference to create a better future for everyone. As an employer, diversity and inclusion are key drivers of employee engagement and productivity, talent acquisition, innovation and growth.’

Fujitsu’s commitment to diversity and inclusion has manifested in some high-profile successes recently; in 2018 Fujitsu was recognised by Business in the Community as a Top Employer for Race, and some of our senior managers were recognised in the Financial Times’ EMpower index as Ethnic Minority Role Models. Fujitsu was also a major sponsor of the Civil Service D&I awards in 2018, celebrating diversity in the public sector.

And of course when it comes to innovation, diversity is essential – in order to continue to provide world-class service to its customers, and to stay at the forefront of technology innovation, Fujitsu is proud to bring together teams from around the world to collaborate and co-create new concepts.

As a global company, Fujitsu wants to bring the best technologies to Guernsey, from our experience of implementing them around the world. We believe this will allow Guernsey to unlock a world of opportunity – today, tomorrow and beyond.
