The members of staff from various departments, including creative, retail operations, internal communications, IT and finance, have been recognised in the company’s long service awards. The scheme celebrates the dedication and commitment of those who have been with the business for more than 10 years.

‘We are incredibly passionate about our people and while we recognise it is important to bring new talent into the business, one of our key priorities is to retain and develop the great people that we already employ. By rewarding and recognising our employees, we continue to make Specsavers a great place to work,’ said co-founder of Specsavers Dame Mary Perkins.

Legal resource technician Arthur Allen-O’Leary recently celebrated 20 years with Specsavers, which was founded in 1984.

‘Working in legal is challenging, but to have been fortunate enough to remain in the same department for more than 20 years and to take on such a variety of work is both stimulating and rewarding,’ he said.

Over the last quarter alone, 30 Specsavers staff have been recognised for their long service, all together amounting to almost 500 years.

Staff are presented with a certificate, bottle of champagne and either a silver or gold pin depending on their length of service.
