Called as a Guernsey advocate in 2014, he will lead the law firm’s Guernsey restructuring and insolvency team having played an integral role in developing Carey Olsen’s practice in this field.

Advocate Jones has acted in relation to many of the most complex restructuring and insolvency assignments in the island. These include advising in relation to the administrations of the philatelic investment business Stanley Gibbons (Guernsey) Limited, the Long Port Group and HMV Group plc, and the administration and liquidation of Joannou & Paraskevaides (Overseas) Limited.

‘As a true, dedicated restructuring and insolvency lawyer in Guernsey, David has established an enviable practice and earned the trust and respect of clients and colleagues alike. He is a tremendous asset to the firm and very deserving of this promotion,’ said Russell Clark, managing partner of Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office.

Advocate Jones joined Carey Olsen as an associate in 2010 and has previously been promoted to senior associate and counsel in 2012 and 2016 respectively. He is also a member of the industry working group tasked with revising Guernsey’s insolvency law.
