Mark has joined EY after more than 16 years at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission – four of which he spent as deputy director for the investment sector, lately covering investment and fiduciary. He was responsible for divisional and policy initiatives, which among his achievements saw him launch the Private Investment Fund and Manager-Led Product.

His new role will initially involve providing consultative advice on existing regulatory risk health-check and remediation projects. Mr Le Page will also build upon his interest in Fintech, including around cryptocurrency, to support EY’s growing artificial intelligence and regulatory technology offerings in the Channel Islands.

‘Mark’s significant experience and expertise are a welcome addition to our growing advisory team in the Channel Islands,’ said Richard Le Tissier, EY assurance partner.

‘His insight and skills from his time with the GFSC will be invaluable to our clients and the firm as we continue to transform the way we work.’

Mr Le Page said: ‘I was privileged to have worked at the commission during times of prosperity in the early 2000s, with the private equity boom, then the global financial crisis, which was followed by numerous global reviews of Guernsey’s regulatory framework.

‘I am looking forward to sharing my learnings and insights from my time at the commission with local businesses to help them navigate recent and future changes.’

He added: ‘In making my decision to join EY, I was impressed with how truly globally connected and collaborative their teams are and how they are using cutting edge digital innovations to improve their service offerings and clients’ businesses alike.’

Mr Le Page will continue to make a significant contribution to the financial services industry through his association and industry roles, in particular with the tax compliance industry working group and Guernsey Finance’s fund strategy group.
