New committee to lead public relations group
THE Channel Islands Group of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations has a new committee to lead it for the year ahead.

Jersey-based William Church, director of sales and marketing at The Jersey Royal Company, has taken over as chairman from Mark Oliphant, who led the group for two years.
Guernsey-based Nichole Culverwell, owner of Black Vanilla, has been elected as vice-chair, taking over from Natasha Egré.
Jim Anderson from the States of Guernsey will continue as secretary with Hannah Carolan of HSBC taking over as treasurer.
Brooke Kenyon and Dan Gallienne from Orchard PR, Hannah Shellswell from Freedom Media, Allan Watts of Orchid, Guy Le Maistre from Exposure PR and Miss Egré, who has just started a new role at Marbral Advisory, were all re-elected.
Guernsey-based Katrina Bray from Ravenscroft was elected for her third time on committee. Miss Bray has 12 years’ experience in PR and before that was a journalist for The Guernsey Press. Katrina was the first secretary of the Channel Islands group when it was formed in 2008.
‘We celebrated our 10th anniversary last year with a superb dinner in Jersey following a very successful forum and over the last decade have run dozens of events for PR professionals in the islands. We currently have 58 members and are extremely proud of the statistic that the group boasts more chartered PR practitioners in its ranks by percentage of total membership than any other regional group,’ said Mr Church.
