GET’s aim is to assist disabled people in securing and maintaining work in Guernsey, with the disability charter providing employers with practical information, good practice and guidance. The charter also celebrates employers taking positive action.

‘EY already supports a number of initiatives and projects across our network to increase disability confidence in business, so we are delighted to be member of the Guernsey Employment Trust disability charter and supporting a local initiative which is putting disability confidence top of the agenda for local businesses,’ said Richard Le Tissier, EY assurance partner.

‘Encouraging diverse perspectives and inclusive cultures are key to building high performing teams, ultimately driving better decision-making and stimulating innovation throughout businesses.’

EY leads a number of initiatives globally to increase disability confidence within businesses and their network.

One of these, Ability EY, is an inclusion group open to anyone within the EY network to join.

This includes people who have a disability themselves, to people who have friends or family with a disability, to those who are just interested and want to find out more. The aim is to ultimately make everyone disability confident and create an inclusive working environment.
