Data analyst apprenticeship launched
A data analyst apprenticeship has been launched aimed at Guernsey businesses looking to develop their teams.
The Digital Greenhouse, which is the government-backed innovation hub, is working with Avado Learning to offer a number of fully funded places to small and medium sized businesses for the apprenticeship.
The Arch apprenticeship is a fully accredited, level 4 qualification, offered online, and has been rated as ‘outstanding’ by UK standards body Ofsted.
The programme is perfect for entry-level data roles, both new starters and existing employees looking to grow their skills. Learners will collect, organise and study data over 18 months. By the end of the course, they will understand data structures, database systems and how to do a range of important analyses that will benefit the business.
‘Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for employees and employers alike,’ said Richard Hanrahan, chief executive Agilisys Guernsey.
‘For employees they are not only a great way to develop and learn new skills, they also provide a route to formal qualification acquired in a work-based setting.
‘The benefits for employers are more motivated and loyal staff with relevant skills, which can be immediately applied within the organisation.’
Economic Development vice-president Deputy Andrea Dudley-Owen, said: ‘As we emerge from what could be the strangest crisis that the world has seen in living history, we have all seen the accelerated importance of digital skills across business, community and our everyday lives. To be able to offer a digital apprenticeship to local businesses, at a time where they need to equip employees with future skills in what could be a difficult economic environment as a result of the pandemic, is imperative to the island’s revive and thrive recovery approach.’
Fully funded places are limited and open to small to medium sized Guernsey businesses from all sectors. To find out more, visit: https://digitalgreenhouse.gg/careers/digital-apprenticeships/ or email lucy.kirby@gov.gg.
