The nominee started a family after marrying at 16 years of age, having seven children.

Her second was born with spina bifida, a condition where a baby’s spine and spinal cord do not develop properly in the womb, causing a gap in the spine.

‘Still to this day she cares 24/7 for Bridgitte, her second born,’ said Nina.

‘She also cared for my late Grandpa until he passed in December 2016.

‘She’s always happy, never complains, is caring and giving to all the family, including 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

‘Nothing is ever too much. She cooks fresh meals daily.

‘She’s amazing.’
