Born in Guernsey, Ms Dowinton has been a funeral director at Argent for the past 10 years and has qualifications in funeral arranging and directorship.

More importantly however Ms Dowinton’s kindness and compassion to people experiencing the most tragic of times knows no limits.

Able to take on all manner of service, Argent will accommodate and personalise each and every service to the personal preference of those involved.

‘Whether it be on the beach, or a traditional church service, we will personalise everything to your needs. I’ve been doing this here for the past 10 years and it is an honour to be able to. I’m sure I will need a lot of luck to get anywhere with this award but it is special to be nominated and I am very thankful for it,’ said Ms Dowinton.

Educated at St Andrew’s school and then Les Beaucamps, Ms Dowinton is a keen equestrian and athlete.

If she is not working hard, or out riding her horses, then she will be coaching hurdles for her daughter Rhiannon down at Footes Lane.
