Student Katy Riley nominated the Grammar School and Sixth Form Teacher for the Pride of Guernsey award and said Mrs Watson deserves to be recognised for the hard work she does at the school to improve the mental health of her students.

‘Mrs Watson will always go out of her way to help students and ensure that they feel well supported,’ Katy said.

‘She makes sure the school is an inclusive and positive environment for all and has such a strong commitment to improving the lives and mental heath of students.’

Katy said Mrs Watson also dedicates huge amounts of her time to coming up with new, innovative ways to ensure all students’ needs are met and has had a personal impact on Katy’s life.

‘Mrs Watson has provided me with hope when I wanted to give up and she has made my Sixth Form journey more manageable.’

Katy said Mrs Watson deserves this nomination because she always goes the extra mile to help students.

‘She constantly comes up with new and innovative solutions to any problems raised, which means all the students feel like they matter.’
