The GSPCA Animal Shelter’s Steven Byrne credited Ms Connolly for being a real support to the charity.

‘Corinne heads up Sidney’s Sponsored Events, who put on multiple events every year to raise funds for good causes,’ he said.

‘She’s a real support for both us and CLIC Sargent, who benefit from these, and over the years has raised tens of thousands of pounds for both organisations, not to mention entertained thousands of islanders with her gigs, events, sponsored walks and so many other fantastic occasions.

‘Her next event is on 26 July and once again she has arranged for a band to fly over for an evening, this time with ’80s music to raise funds and no doubt entertain the hundreds that will attend.’

He added: ‘Corinne is a fantastic friend and deserves this award.’
