The Guernsey Swimming Club member and Elizabeth College sixth-former often represents Guernsey off-island in the pool and recently won a gold medal in the Gibraltar Island Games.
Specialising in breaststroke, he set new island records in both the 50m and 200m in that discipline and won the latter in a close race against two Jersey rivals.
‘Charlie-Joe really deserves the results he gets,’ the anonymous nominator said.
‘He’s averaging two hours a day of swimming but has done a great job of balancing swimming with school.
‘He’s also going out of his way to add in gym sessions and make the most of himself as a competitor.
‘He works very hard and his results, including the Island Games and several gala records, are testament to that.’
