Pride of Guernsey: Megan Jackson

BATTLING anxiety and depression can often be all encompassing, making life too difficult to manage. But some, like Megan Jackson, who has been nominated for the Close Finance-sponsored Pride of Guernsey Overcoming Adversity Award, do not let it get the better of them.

Megan has just completed her two-year course at college studying childcare and throughout has had to complete her studies while trying to control her anxiety.

Her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: ‘She has continued to work her way through her childcare course. On her hard days she has never given up when she has felt like it and she has managed to stay strong through some very, very difficult times.’

Extremely difficult times, difficulties learning and special educational requirements have all meant that Megan has had to fight an uphill battle but she has never given up.

‘Megan has lacked confidence in many areas with her learning difficulties and special educational needs. I really feel that putting her forward for this award would really help boost her confidence.’
