Pride of Guernsey: Anna Birch
ANNA BIRCH’S selfless kindness shines through according to her daughter, Hattie Birch.
Mrs Birch is the activity manager at the Russels Day Centre
‘She always works so hard, making everyone smile and always being a friendly face for the visitors to the centre,’ said Miss Birch. ‘Plus she is a supermum to all five of us and a ray of sunshine wherever she is.’
Mrs Birch inspires confidence in people and makes them believe they can do anything. During lockdown she kept in contact with some of the centre users by telephone, boosting their spirits. She also avidly makes cakes for the centre’s cake sales, and always has a quiz or a joke or two up her sleeve for them to enjoy, not to mention being her usual outgoing self whenever there are visitors.
