A 16-YEAR-OLD with severe anxiety has been nominated for this year’s St Pierre Park Hotel-sponsored Young Achiever of the Year award.

The nominator, who wished to remain anonymous, said Phoebe Palmeri’s school friends and teachers would agree that despite having a lot to deal with, she has continued to work hard in all of her subjects and decided to sit her GCSE exams even though she has struggled with anxiety.

‘Phoebe has worked extremely hard for her exams and has applied herself more than the teachers ever thought she would,’ the nominator said.

‘She works harder than anyone else and is always willing to help other people out.’

She described her as kind, caring and always there for her friends.

Now having finished education at La Mare d e Carteret High School, Phoebe has been offered a place to study Level 2 sports at the College of FE.

‘Phoebe has been as asset to La Mare over the last five years and everyone who knows her at the school believes she deserves the award for everything she has achieved and for all her determination.’
