‘This long-established Guernsey firm has four departments,’ said Mrs J.M. Morris, who nominated the team at R. H. Gaudion.

Mrs Morris wrote that whichever department she visits, the care, courtesy and help is always of the same high standard.

The four departments are hardware and DIY, garden and fencing, animal and pet feed, and forecourt and fuel.

The business was founded by the late R. H. Gaudion in the 1960s and at present has five family directors. It also employs more than 40 staff. While it makes deliveries to other Channel Islands, it also has a shop at Camp du Roi.

Mrs Morris said that whether it is for a large or a small item, she consistently gets the help she needs.

As well as them being helpful, Mrs Morris said she enjoys being in the company of the staff.

‘The atmosphere is so friendly and good-humoured and it is a great pleasure to talk to all the staff. This business definitely deserves the award for customer service’.

The shop followed government guidelines throughout the pandemic and returned to longer opening hours on Monday 8 June.
