Without the effort, quarantine would have been a nightmare but was made better by timely deliveries of essentials.

Wholesale custom was lost almost overnight for the company but islanders quickly signed up for door-to-door service.

Nominators Ann and Berry Chapple said: ‘Their delivery service during lockdown was greatly appreciated, as was the quality of their produce and helpful staff. They still continue to give us their help.’

Food deliveries accompanied with a little kindness became a highlight of the day with little other access to the outside world.

Nominator Sarah Felmingham thanked the staff for making life at home better. She said: ‘This little company went the extra mile during lockdown – for a portion of which we were in quarantine – to provide all our food deliveries.’

Operations manager Adele Morrow was highlighted for her friendliness throughout.

Compassion was extended during tough times, with no expression that changes to orders were any trouble.

‘Last-minute changes were no problem, the quality was excellent and all clean and bagged. Items were left in the cool and not the sun, with a note to say the delivery was outside. Without them lockdown would have been a nightmare.’

Shopping became a worry for those who felt brave enough to face long queues which posed risk and shelves which were often nearly depleted.

With a small team, staff begin as early as 6am to ensure deliveries are made, meaning Lee Gallienne, Lee Eggiman, Peter Innis and Dominic Green could not be present for the photo.
