A HUGE ‘thank you’ to the staff of Frossard Ward has come from the mum of a young patient in the form of a nomination for the Angel of the Year award.

Helen O’Hara has put the ward staff forward for the Ravenscroft-backed award owing to their care for her son, Fletch, since he was born.

‘I would like to nominate all the lovely staff on Frossard Ward,’ she said.

Fletch has had a few medical issues over the years and as a result has been in and out of the ward. ‘Over the last six years they have been just unbelievable – and that is the past and present staff.’

‘Everyone has always been so kind and caring.

‘They have been amazing with Fletch and also with me when times have been really hard. They have seen Fletch grow and thrive over the years.’

One staff member taught others the special sign language, Signalong, used to aid communication with people with learning disabilities and this helped Fletch a lot, she said. Even though his communication has improved, he still uses signing.

‘We love everyone on the ward and we want to say a huge thank you to each of them.’
