‘Linda is the lead chaplain of a team who visit patients throughout the hospital but who are also there to support the staff, volunteers and visitors,’ explained their anonymous nominator.

‘Although they help with the patients’ spiritual needs, of all religions or none, the chaplains support in any way they can. During lockdown this has been particularly helpful to patients and staff when relatives have not been able to visit or staff are far away from their families.’

The team works throughout the hospital.

‘In recent years Linda has worked with HSC departments to make a patient’s stay in hospital more comfortable and less anxious. This has been a particular commitment for Linda in Loveridge Ward following still-births or other medical problems.’

The nominator said Linda is a dedicated professional who works above and beyond in even the most sensitive of situations.

‘She is a very sympathetic member of the Dying Matters team supporting and preparing patients and their families in end-of-life care.

‘Linda is dedicated to all aspects of her work and leads and encourages her team, who all use their own skills as they each work in different aspects of patient care.’
