Sophie is a CNS cardiac rehabilitation nurse at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

‘She has been a rock through my husband’s illness.

‘We have been through a really tough year and couldn’t have done it without her.’

Mrs Fletcher’s husband, Simon, suffered a heart attack and needed a quadruple bypass earlier this year.

‘She helps a lot of people and is always cheerful when she needs to be.

‘She just makes you feel safe – you can’t buy that,’ she added.

Sophie has supported Simon through ‘pretty much all’ of his recovery so far, ‘and she will continue to support him,’ said Anita.

‘She’s a breath of fresh air, and such a comfort blanket during our darkest times.

‘She keeps us level-headed – she’s just amazing.

‘We thank Sophie from the bottom of our hearts.’
