Voting from Wednesday for Pride winners
VOTING begins in all categories for this year’s Pride of Guernsey Awards from Wednesday.
Once again the Guernsey Press has had an excellent response with deserving people nominated across all 14 categories. Many of them have already had their stories published in the newspaper and the remainder will be printed before our special Pride of Guernsey nominees supplement comes out on Wednesday, and voting opens.
People can vote online at prideofguernsey.com or on voting forms published in the Guernsey Press. Only one vote per person will count.
‘It never ceases to amaze me just how many special people we have in the island who should be recognised for the contribution that they make, from neighbours to the medical staff, from sports volunteers to grandparents,’ said Guernsey Press editor James Falla.
‘I’m sure our readers will get behind them, vote for their favourites, and our winners will be rewarded at our awards night next month.’
Voting closes on Sunday 18 September.
The three nominees in each category who secure the strongest public vote will go on to the invitation-only Pride of Guernsey awards evening at the St Pierre Park Hotel on Saturday 15 October, where the winners, who are judged by an independent panel, will be announced.
