Pride of Guernsey: Mark Ozanne
MARK OZANNE has taught in Guernsey for the past two years and is currently head of PE at Les Beaucamps High School.
He runs extra-curricular activities and lunchtime engagements, co-ordinates the school's sports fixtures and has an assembly slot to raise the profile of the department by opening access to a variety of different sports.
‘I was contemplating leaving the island but it was my time at Les Beaucamps which convinced me to carry on because of the enthusiasm and passion from the staff and students,’ he said.
Nominator Eva Bourgaize was full of praise.
‘Mr Ozanne really deserves this award for the extreme amount of effort that he puts in for his students.
‘He makes school life so much more enjoyable and never fails to put a smile on my face.
'He is very caring, very understanding towards all of his students and overall the best teacher that I have ever had throughout my whole time I have been at school.’
