Isabel has been working as a learning support assistant for six years and started at Forest Primary School last September.

She was nominated by two separate people.

‘She mainly works one-to-one with a child and goes above and beyond for them,’ said one of her nominators, who wishes to remain anonymous.

‘She does a lot of planning and adapts all their lessons to make it appropriate for them.

‘She is such a kind, caring and passionate person who puts her all into her work.

‘She has a great relationship with the child she works with and is supportive of all their school endeavours.

‘She’s done a fantastic job,’ they added.

Another nominator, Helen O’Hara, described Isabel as ‘the most amazing teacher’ with a ‘happy smiling face’ who has made the child excited to go to school.

‘Izzy is the most amazing teacher. She is so kind, patient and happy,’ she said. ‘She is easy to talk to and if I have any concerns or questions she is always willing to listen.’

Isabel was both shocked and thrilled with her nomination.

‘The best thing about the job is seeing them grow in confidence,’ she said.

‘You see it every step of the way.’
