Rachel has been working at Le Rondin for 10 years and has been head of PSHE and mental health and wellbeing for three years. She has taught in most year groups, all of which she has really enjoyed, and has also led the school to achieving the silver award for Rights Respecting Schools. The school is currently working towards its gold award.

‘A really special thing is that everyone works together, it’s a really collaborative environment,’ she said.

‘Every day is different so it’s really good fun, you always have a story to go home with.

‘We give our children whatever means they need to communicate, helping every child to be the best they can be.’

Rachel’s nominator, who wished to remain anonymous, thanked her for her hard work.

‘Mrs O’Brien always puts in 100% daily into making sure her children and my child in particular get the best out of their days and have the best time at school. I’m so thankful for all the work she does.’
