Described as ‘an asset to St Mary and St Michael school’ by her nominator, Michelle has been working as an emotional literacy support assistant for 10 years.

Her job covers working with students who have anxiety, low self-esteem, difficult home lives and those who have speech and language difficulties, among others.

Her nominator, Kiera Nicholls, said: ‘Mrs Partington currently welcomes the children into school every morning with a massive smile on her face while greeting them. She opens their doors and helps them out of the car.

‘All the children love her and notice when she isn’t there.

‘Mrs Partington has helped children gain confidence in their work while she works with those that need extra support. The children of St Mary and St Michael are very lucky to have a kind, big-hearted LSA.’

‘I’ve got one of the best jobs,’ Michelle said, thrilled with her nomination.
