Pride of Guernsey: Eleanor Perkins
ELEANOR PERKINS has been nominated for Teacher of the Year.
Mrs Perkins was nominated by Leanne Sarre who praised her efforts in helping the students at Les Beaucamps.
Mrs Perkins originally started teaching at Les Beaucamps on a temporary contract in January 2014 but is now on a permanent one. She taught English, drama and PSHE and her contract at the school was extended.
‘I’m really keen on organising extra-curricular activities including the LGBT club, Just Dance, and poi club.’
Nominator Leanne Sarre praised everything Mrs Perkins does to care for the children at the school.
‘When I was at Beaucamps, Mrs Perkins was never usually one for accepting the praise and thanks from all the students for her hard work, dedication and support toward them.
‘For me, she didn’t just teach, she supported me right up until I left Beaucamps in Year 11.
Now, I want to say thanks to her in a way that I truly feel she deserves, even for all the little things.’
