‘Mrs Moores was the teacher who was head of Sixth Form at Blanchelande College from its reopening in 2020,’ said her nominator Chenille O’Brien.

‘She has guided students both academically and in extracurricular activities.

‘Although she left Blanchelande at the end of the academic year, she will be very missed.

‘Being head of the Sixth Form, Mrs Moores was one of the main teachers providing us guidance about post-18 options. She is always telling us to record our achievements or events that we have been to for the future.

‘She also organised a trip to three universities and a university fair. This gave us an idea of what courses we could study and the grades needed.’

Sarah has been teaching for 26 years and been at Blanchelande since 2019.

‘I’m really touched,’ she said.

‘Especially when I’ve come to this crossroad. It reinforces to me that it’s something I don’t have to close the door on.

‘It’s the best job ever, there’s never a dull moment.

‘It’s seeing that creativity that young people have, watching them grow. You are always learning as well.’
