Pride of Guernsey: Leah Briscoe
DR LEAH BRISCOE has been nominated for the Angel of the Year award.
Leah has been working as a dentist for a little over two years.
‘I would like to nominate Dr Leah Briscoe at Fresh Dental for being the most calming and patient dentist I know,’ said her nominator Anna Mills.
‘She arranged appointments that were more suitable for someone with anxiety.
‘She discussed beforehand what she would do to reassure the patient that there’s nothing to worry about, and for making a very scared and nervous young patient so relaxed that dental treatment was performed and the patient left the surgery happy calm and not scared to go back.’
Anna said that some of the ways Leah did this was through providing the patient with sunglasses, playing music through AirPods and bonding over YouTube. Leah arranged for the patient to have the last slot of the day so she could spend as much time was needed with them before and during the appointment. Leah is the best dental surgeon I’ve ever met.’
