Debbie volunteers at the hospital as well as at St Martin’s School and most recently volunteered for the Island Games.

Her nominator Nicola Brehaut said she is ‘always kind and friendly to everybody.’

‘Debbie has a very positive impact on the community, she spends the little free time she has helping at her grandchildren’s school, being a "trolley dolly" at the PEH and most recently as a marshal at the island games.

‘Debbie is always friendly and welcoming to everyone she meets and will go above and beyond to bring light to other lives.

‘She is friendly, loving, generous, caring, wonderful and slightly crazy. I am proud to be her daughter.’

Debbie says she volunteers as a way ‘to give back to her community and to put smiles on people’s faces.’

‘I’m over the moon!’ she said upon receiving her nomination.
