Pride of Guernsey: Peter Beausire
PETER BEAUSIRE has been nominated for the Sports Volunteer award, sponsored by Sure.
Peter has been nominated for his service to Guernsey Basketball over the past 20 years as both a player and committee member. Last week he stepped down as president of the Guernsey Basketball Association.
Peter was chief organiser of the basketball at the recent Island Games.
His nominator, James Falla, said: ‘Peter was there day-in, day-out, organising the event and making sure everything ran smoothly.’
‘It was a fitting occasion on which to bow out of the administration of his sport.
‘His commitment to basketball has been second-to-none and everything Peter does carries an air of professionalism about it.
‘He has overseen the growth of basketball to where it is today and left it in a better place for the new committee to follow-up on.’
