Pride of Guernsey: Nikola Bubnic

‘Nikola is a dedicated individual whose caring nature makes his residents feel safe and well looked after, and their needs are always met,’ said his nominator, Ana Filipa Saborida do Amaral.

‘Nikola started working in healthcare almost seven years ago in Germany, working with elderly people in a care home.

‘Although German wasn’t his first language, he quickly developed strong bonds with his residents thanks to his sensitive and kind nature.

‘He was always very caring and attentive to his residents’ needs. Later on he continued working with the elderly in Guernsey and today he works with adults with severe learning disabilities in Sunnybrook at the Duchess of Kent.’

Nikola has a very positive attitude and is always there to help his colleagues, said Ana.

‘With a constant will to learn and develop as a healthcare professional, Nikola has been investing his time studying psychology and behaviour support in order to provide a higher care standard to his residents.

‘He has been working in healthcare for over five years now and his humbleness, kindness and intelligence have been present since the first day.

‘Anybody that is lucky to work with Nikola will know how dedicated he is to his residents, making sure they feel at home and have the best care.’
