The team has been nominated for its service to vulnerable members of our community.

The team transports children with special educational needs to either Le Rondin, Le Murier or Les Voies schools.

Each bus has a driver and an adult supervisor on board with 16 children.

The team’s nominator, who wished to remain anonymous, said: ‘Despite some of the children displaying challenging behaviours, [they] work with the children and their families to ensure all pupils get to school safely.

‘They pull together when a bus breaks down to ensure all teachers and pupils are where they need to be.

‘When not transporting students to and from school, they are ferrying them around on various sports events or trips.

‘During the Covid-19 pandemic they continued the service despite the risk of exposure to the virus themselves.

‘Most of the team work other jobs to earn a living or are retired.

‘This nomination is to highlight their ongoing efforts and a thank you from the countless people they have helped over the years.’

The nomination was warmly received by the team. 'I'm overjoyed,' said Education transport officer Adam Stonebridge.
