Pride of Guernsey: Anita Davies
ANITA DAVIES has been nominated for the Bailiwick Community Hero award, which is sponsored by The Fort Group.
Anita offers antenatal education, birth doula support and is a pregnancy and post-natal mother and baby yoga teacher.
Her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: ‘Anita is a hero to many families.’
‘She has had a huge impact to families. She has led families through preparing for parenthood.
‘On a personal level, Anita picked me up and helped me when I was at my most vulnerable. I will forever be in debt to her for everything she did for us and other families.
‘Anita has mentally and physically helped me. She checked in on us and provided networking to connect to other mums.’
Anita’s second nominators, who as a collective call themselves the NBB Summer Babies Group 2023, said: ‘Anita is a force of nature who devotes her life to helping our community nurture its next generation. She is an amazing person to have on your team as you welcome your baby into the world.
‘Anita is a great teacher. Her vast in-depth knowledge, and the engaging and fun way in which she imparts it, are hugely empowering to parents to be.
‘She is truly an unsung hero of our community.’
Upon receiving the news of her nomination, Anita said: ‘I am so touched that someone took the time to nominate me for this Pride of Guernsey award and that they value me enough for this.’
