Nicola has spent 20 years teaching, the last four of them at The Ladies’ College, where she is both the head of learning support and a maths teacher.

‘Mrs Ingrouille provided me with learning support at Ladies’ College. I struggle with dyslexia and things just don’t sink in,’ said her nominator, Neave Chatting-Tonks, 16.

‘Mrs Ingrouille is so patient and finds different ways to explain and support, especially in maths. She has been really amazing and made learning enjoyable and gave me hope in very frustrating times.

‘She is the most amazing, incredible person. She never stopped believing in me, never stopped encouraging me even when I thought I couldn’t.

‘I’ve always been able to go into her office and know she can support me, not just in maths. She welcomes me with open arms.

‘She really cares about the students. You’re not a number in her classroom, she’ll do anything to make sure you have a comfortable time. She makes us feel cared and loved for in the school community.

‘The least I can do is nominate her,’ she said.

‘I am genuinely taken aback and deeply honoured by this nomination,’ Nicola said.

‘The fact that a student believes I have played a meaningful role in their life, to the extent that they’ve dedicated time from their demanding schedule to recognise it, fills me with immense gratitude.’
