‘Kyle gave up a job in finance to join the Joint Emergency Services team when it first formed,’ said his nominator, Sue Ferreira.

The Joint Emergency Services team are the emergency centre phone operatives, working swiftly day-in, day-out to save lives and face many profoundly difficult situations.

Kyle has been working there for more than seven years.

‘Kyle did an amazing job through Covid, worked long hours and separated himself from his young family for the good of others. It was such a tough time during Covid, he was always expected to show up every day – remember how terrified we all were of moving around back then,’ said Sue.

‘He continues to work hard covering both day and night shifts and is a reliable and positive team member as well as a great example, role model and hero to his two boys.

‘He always takes on extra hours, and still does all the lovely dad stuff too. He juggles it all really well.’
