Pride of Guernsey: Arthur Le Goupillot
ARTHUR LE GOUPILLOT has been nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year award.
Arthur has spent the last two years teaching himself how to play the electric guitar, learning his impressive technique and skill through the internet and doing an amazing job at it.
‘He’s so talented and committed,’ his nominator said, who wishes to remain anonymous.
‘The freedom he’s got from it is amazing, he’s just so happy,’ said Arthur’s mum, Tina Le Goupillot.
Not only has Arthur taught himself to play but he has reached a standard that he was part of the group which won the Thirst Battle of the School Bands this year.
‘He’s just an inspiration,’ his nominator said, who is in awe of what Arthur has accomplished in the span of just two years.
‘He won’t believe it as he doesn’t think he’s any good,’ said Tina, when she was told about her son’s nomination.
Not only has Arthur made great progress with the guitar – his band Truelove and the Rejects also played SarkFest this year – but he also set up a young carers group in 2019.
‘He really deserves to be recognised,’ his nominator said.
