‘Geoff has been working on restoring and maintaining the Little Chapel since the major restoration started several years ago,’ said his nominator Andrew Warren, chairman of the Little Chapel Foundation.

‘Most recently, he repaired and replaced some of the mosaic tiles in preparation for the celebration of the centenary of the chapel and undertook some repairs to a section of the roof to stop water ingress.

‘He has consistently gone above and beyond the work he has been contracted to do, undertaking much of the work unpaid and in his own time. The Little Chapel is Guernsey’s prime tourist attraction, seeing tens of thousands of visitors per year.

‘Seven years ago it was in a parlous and potentially catastrophic state. Geoff’s commitment and dedication to restoring it to its original glory has been central to the work undertaken to preserve it as a key part of the island’s heritage for visitors and locals.’
