Pride of Guernsey: St Peter’s Floral Group
THE ST PETER’S FLORAL GROUP has been nominated for the Bailiwick Community Hero award.
The group has been nominated for its displays featuring bicycles on the Island Games cycling road race course.
Nominator Nigel Baudains praised the group for its ‘fantastic displays’ and ‘great imagination.’
He also believes they do much to create a welcoming environment for tourists.
‘People can choose many places to go on holiday so giving them a warm welcome, creating a lasting impression, and leaving them with a feeling that they might want to come back is so important. The efforts of the St Peter’s Floral Group tick all the boxes in that aspect. They put smiles on people’s faces.
‘I’ve no doubt the work of these volunteers will give enjoyment to people beyond Games week and make a trip to the parish for islanders who may not have seen them yet worthwhile.
