Pride of Guernsey: Alderney Mignot Memorial Hospital healthcare assistants
ALDERNEY Mignot Memorial Hospital healthcare assistants have been nominated for the Carer of the Year award, sponsored by Specsavers.
The team was praised for their vital role in the delivery of patient care on the island and improving the lives of those in the community.
Their nominator, Robert Bohan said: ‘They make outstanding contributions to the immediate care of individuals.’
Robert was rushed into hospital earlier this year and was in the care of the hospital for five days. He praised everyone for their work in caring for him, saying he ‘couldn’t speak highly enough of them.
'It’s such a wonderful community of people.’
Robert also praised the team for their work in the early days of the pandemic.
‘They had a huge impact during the pandemic, protecting the community from Covid, but still going into work, putting themselves on the front line. So much good goes unnoticed, and they deserve the recognition.’
