She was nominated by daughters Shayanne, Kalisha and Akyra Reynolds.

‘My mother Jade Reynolds works a full-time job, working as a carer for adults with learning difficulties and part-time work doing door-work on the weekends,’ Shayanne said.

‘As well as her jobs she is also doing her exams for adult disability and is on her last year out of four, while looking after all her children who live at home, and two grandchildren aged five and two. She does everything she can do. She’s very loving and is quick to help anyone. She’s a very strong woman, independent. She is just so lovely and caring. She’s brilliant, she treats them like she treated us.

‘She has given up all of her free time to make sure that they all have everything they need.’

She has also encouraged her grandchildren to be involved in all kinds of activities, like gymnastics and tap dancing.

Jade was not expecting her nomination.

‘I was really shocked, I didn’t know my children had done that for me,’ she said. ‘I’m quite emotional.’
