Pride of Guernsey: Vanessa Guilbert
VANESSA GUILBERT has been nominated for the Grandparent of the Year award.
‘My nan deserves the award for no other reason than being the best nan. This woman has guided her children, her grandchildren and is continuing to do so with her great-grandchildren through the best paths in life,’ said her nominator, Lianne Queripel.
‘Nan is always there day or night for us no matter how big or small the problems, she listens and tries to help find the solution.
‘My nan has been my rock since having my little boy and the bond they share is certainly unbreakable.’
Lianne says that one of her son and nan’s favourite activities to do together is to go down to the park and see the ducks.
‘My nan has helped with full-time childcare when I returned back to work and has never complained because she is always 110% full of love for her family.
‘She’s been absolutely incredible. There’s nothing that will stop her from helping her family.’
